Sometimes we are involved in a struggle of pushing and pulling in this Christian walk. We sometimes struggle with ourselves and sometimes with Satan himself. When we started out we grabbed a hold of the rope in this tug-a-war of life and held on with all our might. We know that there is a line that we don't want to cross. A line that says we lose. A line that makes our opponent the victor and we know who that is. So how far do we want to be from this don’t cross line. Sitting here reading this you say just as far as I can. But is that how we live our lives; is this how we conduct ourselves?
For years the church had values that it believed in, things that kept our position strong. But because of popularity and acceptance we began to look around. We looked down that rope and we saw that the line was so far away. We saw that we were in a good position. How did we get here? We started in that good position because the saints that had held this rope before took this strong position. They separated themselves from this world. They understood that if we allowed ourselves to slip one inch, then we would lose more ground. I do not feel that we have crossed the line yet, but I do feel that we are in danger of losing our loved ones and our children. You see we are the anchor at the end of the rope. The ones that are in front of us are depending on us to hold our ground.
For years the church stood for and against many things. Some maybe could be considered as extreme but the reason the church stood was they realized the importance of living a holy life before God “And ye shall be holy unto me: for I the LORD am holy” Leviticus 20:26 and “But as he which hath called you is holy, so be ye holy in all manner of conversation;” 1 Peter 1: 15. How can we be spiritual if we feel our life with carnal things?
I am calling our church and many others to reposition yourselves. Let us get a better grip on our rope position and dig our feet in so we may hold on with all our might. The church is depending on you. We cannot allow anything to cause us to slip. Our friends, family, and this generation is depending on us.
